Things don't grow if you don't bless them with your patience...

This hat was a DIY piece for me. My boyfriend always smirks at me when I wear it but I can't seem to let go of it. Simply put, it's just a fun hat to wear. I like to remind myself that even though fashion can be very important to some (especially in my world.) In the big scheme of it, it is simply all about enjoying what we wear and feeling happy with what we see as we step out into the world every morning.

SO WHAT if I look a bit silly in a red flower baseball cap! I love the way it makes me feel, I love the color it adds to a dainty white frock, but most of all I am just being a bit daring and loving it.

Vibrant months...

It's beginning to feel like summer in L.A with 90 degree weather having me shed a few layers but in a new way. I grew up in South Florida with clothes being only a modest necessity during the summer heat, short shorts, flip flops and tank tops. But as my style evolves I am enjoying summer's lively colors and thin fabrics more than ever before. I attribute this to California's amazing warm yet breezy weather.

The "neon" trend is still pretty relevant and as I begin to see it re-emerge into my usual LA commute I find myself looking for the perfect balance between obnoxious slime colored clothes and just the right amount of excitement added to a look. That's really why "neon" is just so perfect for the summer months to come. The sun is hot and sassy, the flowers are in full bloom, and our tans have us glowing. It's only natural our clothes are just as alive...

My journey to Los Angeles began about a year ago, my dream was to learn how to be a fashion designer and with lots of hard work I have reached my goal, although I have many more aspirations to reach in my career, the goal of being able to make the type of clothes twenty-something year old women like me want to wear has been fulfilled (somewhat).   Side note: I apologize for my frizzy hair and tired look on my face, this is what happens when you spend a whole day driving around picking up pulls from a dozen showrooms and rush home to take pictures before the sun sets, LOL. I hope most of you can relate.

This dress was inspired by the recent festival season which hit L.A pretty hard in March with Coachella. Everywhere I looked I saw baby doll dresses, fringe tops and shorty-short shorts. Even though my hectic life doesn't allow me to venture off to the desert with friends and dance like no one is watching, I think a girl can still pretend and jam out in her car with some fun threads on.
Case in point - meet the Wildflower Dress. Made by yours truly...
